Flexing

This is Liam after his bath the other day. Just as I was taking the picture he moved his arm to look like he was flexing...maybe he is. :)

Princess Leah or Larry Boy

You think my Dad would know that these slipper things are supposed to go on my feet. Duh... I don't see him playing hockey with his skates on his ears! Speaking of hockey...I watched my Dad play hockey on the weekend. He plays for the Breakers with Uncle Craig and they won their semi final game. They play in the final this weekend. I even tried to cheer for them. I got to hang out with my Grandpa and Grandma Anderson, my uncles, Auntie Sam and Nanny & Pappy. It was fun. GO BREAKERS!

Fun in the tub...

Bathtub time is extra special with Dad because he lets me splash. He just told me the other day that we are going to have to graduate to the big bathtub in the bathroom because I am getting too big for this one. I guess he's right 'cause Mom just took me to the clinic yesterday to find out my weight. I am now 13 lbs, 12 oz. I've gained approximately 15 oz in the last 2 weeks!! What can I say...I like milk!

He must be dreaming...

I put Liam in the swing last week and he fell asleep. I was working on the church bulletin at the time and as I glanced at him to check to see how he was doing I saw this...fast asleep with a big grin on his face. A big thank you to the Bendels for lending us this swing. Liam enjoys it.

Sharing a laugh with Nanny

Here's Liam and my mom (Nanny) sharing a few smiles and laughs. I was amazed I actually got a picture of our little guy smiling. He does it quite a bit now but it's always a bit difficult to catch them with the camera.

Saying goodbye to a friend...

On March 1st a close friend from our church passed away. Doris Masich had been home with their two children on the Wednesday morning when her heart just stopped. The paramedics found her kneeling in front of the couch in the family room. It is quite possible that she had been praying when God called her home to be with him. She is survived by many family members but specifically by her husband Stan and her two children, MacKenzie (4) and Marlow (2). Doris was going to turn 40 at the end of this month. As you might imagine this news came as a shock to all in our church. Doris was a very special person and touched many lives. She was committed to her relationship with the Lord. This was evidenced in her relationships with people, her love for the Bible and her love for her family. To me, she was a second mom and a friend. In my preteen years she took me under her wing when I didn't have any girls my age at church. We had sleepovers, went for rides on her Harley, cooked up her fabulous meals, played games and went camping with my mom. I thank God for the gift of Doris' friendship. Without her love and example I might not have decided to follow God down the narrow path. As I became an adult, Doris continued to be a wonderful friend and someone I could trust. We had just started to meet periodically to talk and pray when we moved back to Saskatoon this fall. I will always miss Doris but I praise God that she is not just lying in a cold grave. Doris is hanging out with Jesus...watching what he will do down here through her passing. God has already been at work. Two of her family members have accepted Christ since her death. My hope is that God will continue to work in our church as well. As humans it is hard for us to understand why God would allow a young woman like Doris to die, but there is hope in the fact that God knows what he is doing. He can see the big picture and is there to comfort.
